About Gerry

Gerry Nelson is an award winning Irish documentary filmmaker. Beginning his career in the post production, Gerry switched to directing following 12 years as a highly regarded, award winning, editor. 

With his first documentary film, 'Faith, Hope and Plastic', an acclaimed study of Lourdes, Gerry quickly gained a reputation for creating imaginative and thoughtful programmes.

Over three decades of experience Gerry's work continues to impress. He is a total filmmaker; writer, director, photographer, and editors. He is also a peer-reviewed author.

His work has taken him to some of the worlds most far flung corners... The Americas, Arabia, Africa, India, Siberia, The Middle East and all points of his native island but still never more content than in the edit suite.
